This guitar was the axe of legendary Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame guitarist, Tommy Crook (J.J. Cale, Chet Atkins, Merle Haggard and Leon Russell). It has 50,000+ hours of use, and counting, which may qualify it as the most played guitar in the world.
One thing you’ll notice is that the top 2 strings are thick bass strings. This is part of his unique, signature sound. It was a HUGE honor to photograph this guitar. Thank you to David Thayer for having me shoot it. Drool away…
